Strike or Stryke?

stryke-logo3I haven’t been ten pin bowling for a while so I think I’ll stick with Stryke today!

Stryke is an App available from both the Apple and Android stores and is used by The Tax Chic for new tax returns.

To be eligible to use the App you must be registered on my Tax Agent Lodgement list (so please don’t try and download the App and submit your return without contacting me first, as it simply won’t work).

But once you are registered with me, it is very EASY to use!

All you do is answer a questionnaire, take photos of your documents with your smart-phone and then press submit – I’ll do all the rest!

The Stryke App fits perfectly with our aim for online and paperless returns, and is a great partner with Xero Tax and our E-signatures.

Remember, I’m your girl when it comes to tax, get in contact today!

Port Fairy Women’s Weekend 2016

champagne glasses

Since 1998 the Port Fairy Community House has organised and delivered The Port Fairy Women’s Weekend.

The 2016 weekend will be held on 27 – 28 August, and tickets are now available!

The Port Fairy Women’s Weekend offers women two full days of workshops and activities focussing on creativity and wellbeing.  It’s a chance to inspire and invigorate your mind, body and soul.

Organisers say “The program is almost finalised.  Think strengthening your body through mindfulness and yoga, exercising your creative powers through art and writing, nourishing your body with whole foods and learning how to realise your strengths and dreams with guidance from some truly inspiring women.  And did we mention furoshiki, drumming, singing and fermentation?  They’re all in there too!”

On a personal note I am delighted to be involved with the Saturday afternoon panel “Celebrating Involvement – how passionate women positively impact their community” – it is an honour to be invited onto the panel and I look forward to seeing everyone there!

2016 Census TONIGHT!

checklistTonight is Census night in Australia, are you ready?

The Census is compulsory. Everyone in Australia on Census night must complete the Census. The information is collected under the authority of the Census and Statistics Act 1905.

This year the Census is able to be completed online and you should have received details of your login in the mail (snail-mail…), but you can still complete a manual form if you prefer, and it’s not too late to request one.

Click on these links to answer these frequently asked questions:

Do I have to do the Census?

How do I complete the Census?

Remember, participating in the Census is vital to ensuring the statistics of Australia are up to date and relevant, let’s all do our part.

E-signatures, so easy!

esignatureAh yes, modern technology has found it’s way to The Tax Chic!

We have implemented the use of e-signatures on all Income Tax Returns and Business Activity Statements and it seems to be working very well!

The e-signature request is embed in the Xero tax software we are using and it allows us to send your document to a Xero Portal.  We’ll provide instructions on setting up your own login to this portal where you can apply your electronic signature and download a copy of your document for your records.

Not only is the process a lot faster than sending documents by “snail-mail”, it also helps to save paper by eliminating the need to print records – that’s a win in our books!
